Mr. Hart moved to Breckenridge at the age of two and lived in Breckenridge all of his life except for the years he spent in military service. He attended Breckenridge High Schools and Ranger Junior College. He graduated from Cisco Junior College with an associate degree in business administration.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp during World War II.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He married Katie Lee Jones on 27 February 1941 at Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Survivors: his wife; three sons - James Benard Hart, Jr. of Tulsa, OK, Edward Wallace Hart of San Antonio and Seth D. Hart of Breckenridge; two daughters - Katie Elizabeth Ward of Manhattan, KS and Mildred Heflin of Woodson; niece - Helen Taif of Fort Worth; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two half brothers, one brother, two half-sisters, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter.
