About James Kane, Jr.
Dixon Evening Telegraph
November 29, 1901
"James Kane Dead"
James Kane, better known as, "Tip," he that could make an imprompter (sic) political speach (sic) at any time for either party, in fact a lad who enjoyed life all the time and had many friends died Wednesday [Tuesday, November 26] in Phoenix, Arizona, where he had gone a month ago with his sister, Mrs. Fred Humphrie [Humphries] of this city. It has been only two weeks since a sister [Mary] died of the same dread disease, consumption, in Chicago. Chicago is the home of the family, father, mother, four sons and four daughters, and there the funeral will be held when the body arrives from the west."
