About James Louis Charles Scott
He was known as "Lou" and had fought in WWI. He was received a bullet through his elbow and shoulder at the landing at Gallipoli and was hospitalised in Alexandria, Egypt. Lou was a sheep farmer and enjoyed hunting deer in the Rakia and Rangitata areas of Canterbury. Lou had a sister, Annie Christina Scott, who died from peritonitis at the age of 20 in 1912 (born 1892), Sophia Grace Scott who lived in Wellington and died in 1968 (born 1893), and Laurence Walter Scott 1899-1953. Lou was also a cabinetmaker and enjoyed fishing and staying at his batch at the Selwyn River located between Christchurch and Ashburton. Two years after his wife Margaret Edith (Beatty) Scott died in 1940 (circa) he married Herena Newbury - "Rena" who died in June 1987. They did not have any children. Rena had a brother, Herbert - "Bert", who also lived in Redcliffs, Christchurch near the corner of Beachville Road and Estuary Road.
