Obituary - Augusta Chronicle - 4/2/1973 JAMES CLIFTON MIMS

James Clifton Mims of 36 Curry St. died Saturday in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Platt's

Funeral Home with Rev.Morris Wood officiating. Burial will be in West View

cemetery.

He was a retired employee of Graniteville Co., and had lived most of his life

in Augusta.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Alma Sammons Mims, Augusta, two sons,

Hardock Mims, Augusta, and Ray Mims, Perry Ga., his mother, Mrs. Mary Mims,

Perry Ga., two sisters Mrs. Helen May and Mrs. Margaret Hewitt, Augusta, and

two brothers, Charles Mims and Jack Mims, Augusta.

Pall bearers will include Buster Newman, Royale Abney, Tom Toole, Wylie

Crawford, and Fred Greene.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

MIMS -- Entered into rest in a local infirmary March 31, 1973, Mr. James

Clifton Mims husband of Mrs. Alma Sammons Mims of 36 Curry Street. Funeral

services will be conducted at Platt's Chapel this (Monday)afternoon at 4

o'clock, Rev. Morris Wood officiating. Interment West View Cemetery. Friends
