About James A. Moore
ID: I1489
Name: James A. MOORE
Note: Some researchers have claimed that James' middle name was "Andrew." I doubt that. There were no Andrews in the area (either surname or given) around the time of James' birth. There another equally possible alternative. Daniel's brother-in-law was Moses Anderson, and Isaac Anderson sold property to Burt Moore in 1818. That property abutted the land of John Anderson (said to be father of Moses). So there is a definite connection with the Anderson surname.

Note: ||James A. Moore, a good citizen and a land-mark of Pickens county, died at his home in the Prater's Creek section, on last Sunday evening at an advanced age, after an illness of about two mouths [sic], from a complication of diseases. He leaves a wife and seven children, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. He had been for a long period a member of the Baptist church.
