About James Jordan Nicholson

A son of Garnett (ca. 1826-1904) and Martha "Patsy" Nicholson (ca. 1828- before 1859).

NICHOLS(ON), JORDAN, a highly respected of near Ida, died of consumption on Sunday night, aged 59 years. He had been ill several months, his decline having been very rapid. Mr. Nichols is survived by the following children: Mrs. Edward Emerson, Mrs. Noah S. Miller, Miss Mattie Nichols & Edward, Benjamin & Lester Nichols of Page County, Va. & Charles Nichols of Muncie, Ind. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Bruce Corbin of Madison County & two brothers one of whom is Bradford Nichols. The deceased was a consistent member of the Dunkard Church. The funeral was preached at the house on Tuesday by Elder Martin Rothgeb, the remains being interred in the Somers graveyard. (PNC) (circa 1908)
