James O. Rodenberry

Funeral services for James O. Rodenberry, 81, of Holly Pond will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. James McGraw and Danny Skillman officiating, with interment in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Morgan County.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rodenberry died Tuesday, Sept. 25, at his residence. He was born in Tuscaloosa to Charles O. and Myrtle James Rodenberry. He was retired from Redstone Arsenal and was a veteran of the World War II and the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Fairview Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife, Nellie Cobbs Rodenberry of Holly Pond; a son, James Brady (Beth) Rodenberry of Centerville; five daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Talley of Arab, Waynell (Jimmy) Mazzell of Holly Pond, Regina (Jack) Miller of Lawrenceville, Ga., Rita (Richard) Stewart of Orange Park, Fla., and Joy (Anthony) Harbin of Holly Pond; two brothers, Roy E. Rodenberry and Charles O. Rodenberry, both of Tuscaloosa; a sister, Juanita Morris of Georgia; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Rodenberry’s grandsons.
