About James Osborne
Biography
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Osborne-2183
James Osborne was the son of John and Mariam Osborne of East Hampton, New York.
He was born in East Hampton, likely the youngest son of John and Mariam Osborne, about 1672. Little information is available except as stated below.
He is shown only as a son of John Osborne, without later reference, in "East Hampton History including Genealogies of Early Families" by Jeannette Edwards Rattray (1953), page 502.[1] He is not a listed child of John Osborne (Osborn) in the earlier work "A History of the Town of East Hampton, N.Y. by Henry P. Hedges (1897), page 324.[2]
He moved to Elizabethtown, New Jersey and married Sarah, as shown in "New Jersey, Abstracts of Wills, 1670-1817" Liber A, page 39. Nephews Josiah and John Osborn, sons of his brother Caleb Osborne, are cited in his will, and his wife and nephew John Osborn are listed as executors. His will is dated 5 October 1716 and was proved 17 October 1716.[3]
His will cites no children. His brothers Caleb and Edward, and his uncle Joseph Osborne, also lived in Elizabethtown.
James is cited as brother of Edward Osborne and an executor of Edward's will:[4]
