I can find no evidence of a son named Daniel.

From "Echoes in the Forest:"

James Sprague, son of Isaac and Sarah (Wright) Sprague, was born on December 8, 1796. James married Lucy E. Wood on November 13, 1820. Lucy was born on November 13, 1798. The Spragues settled at Winhall, Vermont, after their marriage, then, on January 16, 1837, James purchased a farm on the east half of 4L4R in Stratton from his brother-in-law, Benjamin Thatcher. This sale included an agreement that James would care for Lucretia Marble for the remainder of her life. Lucretia passed away on March 16, 1837. The Spragues’ house was located where Stratton’s recreational area stands today and the remains are surrounded by a picket fence. In April 1841, James also purchased 60 acres of the west half of 3L4R from Stratton Families 460 Richard Scott. Three years later, James sold this lot to his son-inlaw, LaFayette Sheldon. Several houses were built in this area over the years and the Sheldons and others of James’s family eventually settled there (see Beer’s Atlas of 1869). James and his family remained on 4L4R for many years, while their son, Isaac, became part owner of this lot. In 1850, Emmons Howard, age 72, was living with the Spragues. In 1853, the Spragues went west to Illinois. James died there on September 19, 1855, and the house was later sold to Oliver P. Hescock. (McClellan’s Map of 1856 labeled this as Sprague’s farm). Lucy returned to Stratton, and in 1860, she and her two youngest girls lived with LaFayette and Abigail Sheldon. Abigail was James and Lucy’s oldest daughter. In 1870, Lucy and her daughter, Hannah, were living in a house neighboring the Sheldons. Lucy died at Stratton on December 17, 1878, of consumption, and she was buried in Ball Cemetery. Their children were:
