<p> </p><p><p>A handwritten transcript copy of the Will of James Templeton was found on a Family History Centre Film of NSW probates 1847-1853, film number 0388347. It reads:</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>2032A Templeton James late of Sydney Shoemaker</p></p><p><p>I James Templeton of Sydney Shoemaker do make this my last Will and testament viz. First That my funeral shall be conducted in the most frugal manner, & that as soon after as possible all my Just Debts shall be paid. Second That I hereby Give Demise and Bequeath unto my wife Sarah (who arrived in the Ship Elizabeth the 4th by the name of Sarah Scott) all and singular, the Proprty [sic] I may die Possessed of whether Houses lands, Hereditiments, Testaments, monies Deposited in the savings Bank in my name) or Debts due to me To be held & Enjoyed by her, for the purposes herein after mentioned. Third Whereas my said wife has born to me five children. Namely William, George Richard, Sarah Catherine, John Thompson and Elizabeth Ann ; Now for the maintenance of herself during her natural life & for the maintenance Clothing & education of my said Children, and I hereby Give Grant & Demise unto my said wife the sole management of all and Singular the Property before enumerated, with this ("turn over") single restriction, that she shall not sell any of the houses I may die possessed of but only to receive the Rents & profits thereof for the purpose before set forth and in the event of my said wifes Death the said properties shall immediately revert to my said five children, and I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Wife my sole executrix to this my last Will During her life and that if she Dies before my son William becomes of age. I in that case appoint and constitute James Jacob Templeton Now of the Hawkesbury River to be my Executor to this my last Will & Testament & that after my said son William arrives at the age of Twenty one years That he will become Joint Executor with the said James Jacob Templeton to this my last will and testament in witness to which I have hereunto signed my hand & affixed my seal this 27th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred & fortysix</p><p><p></p></p><p><p> James Templeton (L S)</p><p><p> William Reardon William McCassland</p><p><p> John Morgan</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p> No record of Grant of Probate</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p>-- MERGED NOTE
