Twice convicted of poaching, and on the third occasion, the Norwich Assizes on 9th march 1842 sentenced James Warren to 14 yrs transportation. He departed Portsmouth aboard the "Moffat' 14 Aug 1842, arriving in Hobart on 28 Nov. 1942
Several offences for stealing bread, but overall of good behaviour, such that he was granted his T.O.L. 3 July 1849, and Cert, of Freedom 3 Feb 1852
Left a wife, Hannah, in Norwich on transportation
