About James Johnson Wigginton
"According to the Tyler's Quarterly, James was a slave owner in 1754, received land from his father-in-law on November 6, 1759 & appeared on the 1768 Stafford County Quit Roll owning 100 acres. He moved to Loudoun County in January 1765 &became the overseer for Thomas Mason, Esq. Per the Council of Colonial Virginia Papers, his grandfather, William, was a master ship builder & lost his wife & three of his children to an Indian massacre at their homestead along the Aquia Creek in Stafford County Virginia. His brother, John, married Sarah's sister Elizabeth."
