James Madison Winfrey, Sr

James Sr. is the son of John & Mary "Turpin" Winfrey of Virginia. James is my 4th great-grandfather. James married Winford "Winnie" Wimberly, Dec. 11, 1806 in Adair county, Kentucky. Between them they had 9 children. (Sarah,Infant-died young., Diccey, Lewis, Thomas L. Susan, James M.Jr. (my 3-great-grandfather) Elizabeth & William C.) All children born in Kentucky, by 1830 the family moved to Tennessee, 1840 they were in Missouri. Winnie is in the 1840 Miller Co. MO census. James re-married to Chloe Pemberton of Menard Co. Illinois on Feb. 08, 1844. Their was no children between James and Chloe. James & Winnie were married 40+ years. James & Chloe were married 20 Years, 3 months.
