About James Edward Winningham
James E."Bud" Winningham was the son of Jahue and Martha Winningham. James Edward married Amly Jo Huckaby and had one son Roy Winningham. Amily and the baby died. Amly is buried at the Beaty Cemetery, Moodyville, and Roy is buried at Guntertown Cemtery. James registered for WWI. James served in the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I, was wounded somewhere around Saint Quentin, France, on July 27, 1918. James was honorably discharged from service on Dec. 13, 1919, and returned home. James E. Winningham then married Bertie Viola Amonett on July 8, 1920, and had 9 children. "Bud" was father of: Shirley Randall Winningham, James Wesley Winningham, Delcie Winningham Little, Jimmy Don Winningham, Sally Grace Winningham Stephens, Hudson Eugene Winningham, (3) children passed away in infancy: William Carson is buried at Amonett Cemetery, and twins Jerald & Jerley Winningham buried at Robbintown Cemetery.
