Notes:
On 30th January 1719 he was apprenticed to Jochem Creeft for a period of 7 years to learn the saddlemaker's craft, but the contract, signed between Robbert Jansz van Hoorn and Jochem Creeft, was cancelled on the 1st September 1721 by mutual agreement, reasons not stated. (CJ 2878, 186)
When he died only two of their children were still living, Anna Catharina Robbertsz married to the burger Daniel
Rooden, and Johannes Hendrik Robbertsz aged 14 years. (MOOC 8/9, 46)
In the opgaaf return of 1745 they listed 1 son and 4 daughters, but the smallpox epidemic of 1755 had intervened and had hit the residents of Cape Town itself particularly hard.
