Alijan was a very smart, capable and brave man. House of Black Monk — according to a legend progenitor of this house was a Christian monk living in Nukha. He married his son to daughter of White Monk who was a priest in Church of Kish. His son converted to Islam.

Алиджан был очень умным, способным и храбрым человеком. Нухинские и шекинские жители, заключив союз, избрали Алиджана правителем и сделали его ханом, чтобы он управлял Шекинским вилайетом и защищал его от злодеяний персидских грабителей; и он управлял прекрасно.
