George Chauncy, second Son of Henry, married Jane the Daughter and Heir of John Cornwall of Ardely, Esq. by whom he obtain'd the Mannor of fairsted in Essex, divers Lands in Stebing in the same County, and her Estate in Ardely, with some Money, which enabled him to purchase of his Nephew William, his Seat call'd Newplace in Goldeston, with the Mannors of Giffards and Netherhall : He had Issue by her, Henry, Charles, Jane married to Edward Coe, of Paul-Belchampe in the County of Essex, Gent. He was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, and came to New England in May, 1638, and was the pastor at Scituate, Massachusetts, 1641, and November 29, 1654, was installed as the second president of Harvard College, with a salary of one hundred pounds per annum. He d. February 19, 1671/2, having issue by his wife, whom he m. in England, March 17, 1630, Catherine, d. March 23, 1667, aged sixty-six, daughter of Robert Eyre, of Sarum, Wilts, by his wife Agnes, or Anne, daughter of Rev. John Still, Bishop of Bath and Wells, 1592-1607:
