Plumb Crick and the Platt river. (350 M
Plumb Crick and the Platt river. (350 Miles West of Missouri River) with Captain Tidwell Company. The location of 350 miles west of the MISSOURI River is more like 220 miles west of the Missouri River to Plumb Creek. Jane was reendowed in the Logan Temple 4 Mar 1884 Line 1226. At the time of the pioneer crossing the area known as Plumb Creek was at the Indian Camp that had been built on the Loup River. The camp had been used as a stopping place as there was grass and water. There was a Government Indian Station which had been abandoned, I think because of bad water. The soil was sandy and the crossing of the Loupe river was very difficult. The pioneers went up the river several miles to cross the Loupe river and then went south about 25 miles to the Platte river. That crossing was known as Plumb Creek. The distance to Plumb Creek was actually 100 miles west of the Missouri River Plumb Crick and the Platt river. (350 Miles West of Missouri River) with Captain Tidwell Company. Died of cholera George Foster (1810-1888) (The following is copied from an original in his good hand) I immigrated to America in 1832. I was married to Jane McCullough in 1835, in Cincinnati. She was a daughter of Joseph McCullough and Mattie Hutchison.
