FARMINGTON – Jane F. Linnell, 88, of Rangeley, died Friday, March 28, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.
She was born Oct. 16, 1919, in East Granby, Conn., the youngest of six children of John and Minnie (Pease) Fox. She graduated from Simsbury High School and on Jan. 9, 1946, married Raymond Linnell. He died Aug. 10, 1977.
She served in the U.S. Army during World War II. She was employed by a Springfield, Mass., newspaper and Travelers Insurance Co. and later helped her husband run the family business in Granby, Conn. After retiring to Rangeley, she worked for the Rangeley Chamber of Commerce and also served an interim term as a Franklin County commissioner.
She is survived by her three children, Richard F. Linnell and his wife, Erin, of Concord, N.H., Sherry Jenckes and her husband, Cal, of Farmington and Michael R. Linnell and his wife, Billie Jo, of Rangeley; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nathan, Avery, Richard, Molly, Kelsey and Melanie; two great-grandchildren, Preston and Linnell; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; and one grandson, Phillip Linnell.
