Daughter of Francis Mowatt, Liberal MP for Penryn, Cornwall, and in 1865 for Cambridge. Married on Tuesday, 28 February 1865 Vernon Lushington, a county court judge, Secretary to the Admiralty in 1871, and Deputy Judge Advocate General from 1878 to 1912. They lived in Wheeler's Farm, Pyrford, and in 1877 moved to Pyports, Downside Bridge Road, Cobham, Surrey KT11 3EH 51.3258, -0.4125. They had 3 daughters, Katherine (Kitty) Lushington, Margaret Lushington and Susan Lushington, all talented musicians.
