MEMORIAL PHOTOS 1 FLOWERS 2 Jane Harper was born in Kentucky in 1802 to William & Mary Harper. William & Mary Harper were born, raised, educated and married in northeastern Ireland. Two son's, Robert and Alrick were born in Ireland. They immigrated to the United States and settled in what is now Harpers Ferry, West Virginia where William operated a ferry service. Family history documents that Harpers Ferry, West Virginia was named after William's business. Later, the family moved to the Lexington, Kentucky area where Jane Harper was born.

Jane married Elisha Galloway Price on October 14, 1819 in Kentucky. Elisha was the son of Thomas Price (1774-1838) and Elizabeth Galloway (1776-1853).

To this union were born six children, William H (1820 KY-1865 IA), Elizabeth (1823 KY-), Thomas J (1836 IN-1908 IA), Mary Jane, Elisha G (1840 IN-1868 IA), and Josephine Price (1845 IA-)
