About Jane Self
Note contradictions in links 1 and 2.
- "Olde" Robert Self had two wives whose first names are known, but whose last names are speculative. These women are Jane Bean (c. 1635 – 1670) and Mary Antsy, the second wife (c. 1643 – 1713). There are a number of sons, among them Stephen, Francis, Robert Jr, Christian, William and John. (1)
- Robert Selfe was born about 1630 (1655 first record or thereabouts - 25 years), we assume, in England. We believe he was first married to a Mary ______(), and secondly to Jane _______, born 1643(). Our first record of him in America is in 1665, the date of the patent of his 300 acres. With his death coming in 1717. (2)

- In 1688 there is mention of a Christopher Selfe, age about 14, who is a witness in a trial in which Robert Selfe was the juror. (Can he do that?) This Christopher Selfe is not named anywhere as a child of Robert Selfe.
- Jane , last name unknown, served Esq. Gerrard for four years after her arrival in the colonies (arrived circa 1662, finished her indenture circa 1667), she and Robert SELF[Jr] probably met and married after arrival in Westmoreland Co., VA [curator comment: must refer to "Olde" Robert Selfe b c 1630](3)
