At least one pedigree published by rootsweb claims that Janet Boyd, here treated, is the daughter of Archibald Boyd of Bonshaw and his wife Christian Mure rootsweb: Kidder and Winchcomb Family Tree In support of this proposition the Scots Peerage account of the family of Edmund Hay of Megginch, 2nd of Megginch is cited, The Scots Peerage V: 218 but it fails to mention that in the same volume Janet Boyd, here treated, is not identified as the daughter of Archibald Boyd of Bonshaw and his wife Christian Mure Ibidem: 145-6 Moreover, alternative evidence of relationship is not provided. Stirnet's review of the published accounts of the Hays of Megginch also fails to mention the parentage of Janet Boyd, here treated. It would seem, therefore, that the pedigree published by rootsweb may be bogus. Stirnet: Hay 07
