Janet Carmichael was the daughter of James Carmichael and his wife, Caroline Amelia Carmichael. She was one of 204 convicts transported on the Royal Admiral, on the 02 May, 1842 to Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania, Australia). Her sentence was for seven years. She arrived on the 24th September 1842.
She married William Carmichael (Rust) and had two children: Johanna and George both of whom had issue.
