  • THIS INDENTURE made this 17th day of October one thousand seven hundred & ninety one Between WILLIAM SHERRIL & JENY his Wife of Culpeper County of one part & JAMES WIGGINTON of said County of other part; Witnesseth that WILLIAM SHERRIL in consideration of the sum of Ninety pounds current money to him in hand paid by JAMES WIGGINTON by these presents said WILLIAM SHERRIL & JENY his Wife do bargain sell & confirm unto JAMES WIGGINTON a certain tract of land in Culpeper County in the GREAT FORK, which Land was devised to WILLIAM SHERRIL by the Last Will and Testament of CHRISTOPHER HOOMES deceased, and is bounded, Begining upon the River side at a white Oak, Chesnut Oak & Spanish Oak & runing thence South 38 degrees West 94 poles to two white Oaks& Hickory, thence South fifty degrees East 32 poles to two white Oaks, thence South 6 degrees West 22 poles to two red Oaks & Hickory saplins corner to WILLIAM RICHESON, thence with his line South 50 degrees East 240 poles to the River to a white Oak & red Oak & Poplar, thence up the River the several courses to the begining; containing Three hundred acres more or less, Together with all its appurtenances and the rents issues & profits thereof; To have and to hold the land & premises unto JAMES WIGGINTON his heirs free from all incumbrances whatsoever, and WILLIAM SHERRIL & JENY his Wife for themselves & their heirs the land & premises unto JAMES WIGGINTON his heirs do by these presents warrant & forever defend against the claim of any person; In Witness whereof WILLIAM SHERRIL & JENY his Wife have hereunto set their hands & seals the day & year above written

  • In Obedience to the within Writ to us directed, we went personally to the within named JENEY SHERRIL and examined her seperately and apart from her said Husband (the return of the execution of the privy examination of JENEY SHERRIL); Given under our hands & seals this 14th day of October 1791
