About Jannetije Blanck
Pieter Groenendijke's Tryall
source:
Minutes. Collateral and illustrative documents, I-XIX New York (State). Executive Council State of New York, 1910
According to this court case Jannetije Blanck was wooed and abandoned by Peter Groenendike ... Peter was jailed and fined and forbidden to marry her. Yet, Peter married her rival whom he had also impregnated.
• there is a record of a baptism of an Annetje born to her father: 1647 Sep 15; Jeurgie Blanck; Annetje; Jan Evertszen Bout, Michiel Taden, Marietie Lievens, Marritie Philips
As we see no Jannetije in the baptismal records, perhaps the two are the same person?
There is this rather cryptic fragmentary record of a baptism:
1673 Jul 09; , Annetie Blanck; Cornelis; Tryntie Claes
Which to me means: no father, a mother named Annetie Blanck; a child Cornelis; and TryntieClaes who we know is Annetie's mother.... This would be accurate for a bastard child.
• ironically, Annetie/Jannetie's rival's child was baptized on the same day:
1673 Jul 09; Pieter Groenendyck, Marritie de La Noy; Cornelis; Fredrick Gysbertszen, Pieter de Lanoy
as the child's given name (Cornelis) is the same as the other mother's baby, I wonder if there was an agreement that gave Jannetie's the baby to the married couple Pieter and Maria?
