About Jean de Vouthon, Seigneur de Vouthon
Jean De Vouthon's daughter, Isabelle/Ysabeau d'Arc, was the mother of Joan of Arc. His spouse is not known with certainty. Some confusion surrounds two women with similar names, "Thadéa di Visconti" or "Thadée" as well as one "spouse" named Marguerite Coln, who married a different "Jehan de Vouthon" (different birth dates). There may be a other homonyms. What seems MOST LIKELY, in view of all data seen:
- Thadea Valentina di Visconti (i.e. the Elder) married Jean de Vouthon, the ELDER (see this person's father), so is his mother (and not his wife, as some sites state).
- Thaddea de Visconti, the Younger, neice of the above Thadea Valentina, N°1, born in 1351 in Milan, married to a Bavarian prince, and mother of a future Queen Isabelle, wife of Charles VI of France (not the same 3 people). This Bavarian princess passed away in Bavaria at around 30 yrs of age, in 1381.
