Jeane Wood Hiestand was an American actress and the oldest of two daughters of Hollywood director, Sam Wood and his wife, Clara Roush. She appeared in movies and television. Her movie career included "The Ten Commandments" (1956), "Sorority Girl" as Mrs. Fessenden, (1957), "Back from the Dead" and "A Life at Stake" as Mabel the maid (1954). Her father, Sam Wood, directed her in the movie "The Sins of the Children" in which she had a role as Muriel Stokes. Her stage name was Jeane (sometimes written as Jeanne) Wood. Married to John "Bud" Hallam Hiestand, also an actor. She appeared in numerous television shows that included, The Rifleman, The Many Lives of Dobie Gillis, Twilight Zone, and many others.
