Jeanne Membertou

Jeanne Membertou was baptized on June 24, 1610 along with other members of the Membertou clan.

Christine, b. circa 1597 (Louis' oldest daughter was 13) and Elizabeth, b. circa 1599 (Louis' second daughter was 11) when the Membertou clan were baptized. This would suggest that Jeanne (Louis' fifth daughter) had to be born sometime between the year 1600 but before the date of baptism on June 24, 1610. Louis had a 6th daughter named Charlotte, so even if Charlotte was within a year old at the time of baptism that would suggest that Jeanne had to be born prior to June 1609.

Jeanne Membertou, b. bet. 1600 - 1609 is NOT to be confused with "Marie Jeanne Kigigonias" b. abt. 1663 who married Martin Lejeune (b. circa 1661 & s/o Pierre Lejeune ll who married unknown daughter Doucet/Metis daughter of Germain Doucet Sr. & an unknown native woman) in or around 1680. All we know about Marie Jeanne Kigigonais' parents is that they were of the Mi'kmac tribe. They may or may not have been members of the Membertou clan.
