Jehan (Jean) Denys, Sieur De La Thibaudiere

It is recorded in "Racolta de Ramucio" that in June 1492 he returned to Honfleur with 2 ships laden with goods from M,exico, before Christopher columbus. In 1504 he discovered part of the coast of Brazil, and in 1506 he made fishing trips to Newfoundland with pilot Gamard. He charted the Gulf of St. Lawrence , 12 years before Jacques Cartier.He was commisioned by King francis I of France to find lands in the New World. He had several children, but we only know about Pierre Denys.
