JENNIE M. ASAY West Jordan - Funeral services for Jennie Melbina Pierce Asay, 66, of 8243 S. 1750 W., West Jordan, who died Monday in a Salt Lake City hospital of cancer, will be Thursday at noon in the West Jordan Stake Center, 7950 S. 1700 W. She was the mother of Mrs. Ralph (Jean) Butler, of American Fork. Mrs. Asay was born March 21, 1906 in Huntington, Emery County, a daughter of Murry Wiley and Sarah Gee Pierce. She married Vard Asay on Oct. 14, 1924 in the Wellington, Carbon County (sic). The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was active in the LDS Church and in the DUP. Mrs. Asay also was a member of the West Jordan Lady Lions. Survivors include her husband, West Jordan; three sons and four daughters, Larry B. Asay, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Butler, American Fork; Mrs. Shirley (Colleen) Newbold, Midvale; Mrs. James L. (Donna Rae) Jenson, Kearns; Mrs. Duane (Rita) Birggs (sic), West Jordan; Bryce P. Asay, San Jose, Calif.; and Val D. Asay, Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Boyd, West Jordan. Friends may call Wedneday from 6 to 8 p.m. at 8090 S. State, Midvale, and Thursday at the stake center prior to services. Burial will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
