Jennylyn Anne Pineda Mercado is a singer, actress and product endorser. In 1991, she was the subject of a child abuse case -- her stepfather burned her skin with cigarette butts and whacked her back with a flat iron. Her mother, then working in Dubai immediately went home to bail out her partner instead of caring and attending to the needs of her daughter. She was raised by her aunt and her husband.
