Født på Storø (Stord), døpt 15.mars 1769, konfirmert i Storøen kirke 1783, Cand.Profect 1785, lærer ved Waisenhuset i København 1792. 27.mars 1796 residerende kapellan til Rakkestad. I folketellingen for 1801 står han oppført som :"res. capellan og commissair samt gaardbeboer". 3. jan. 1806 sogneprest til Høland, 1816 provst i Nedre Romerike, 12.juni 1820 sogneprest til Eker (Eiker i Buskerud).
Hans hjem ble plyndret 3 ganger av svenskene i 1814.
