Jeremiah Bird was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, serving as a private in the New Jersey Militia under Capt. Benjamin Laing. He also participated in rebel army maneuvers under the command of Lieutenant Hutchinson, first Battalion, NJ volunteers. He had at least four children: Abigail (name of her Great Grandmother, Abigail Jones); Charles (name of grandfather Charles Marsh; Samuel,(name of Great-Grandfather Samuel Jacques); and Benjamin Freeman apparently named after Benjamin Freeman, his grandmother Marsh's second husband. Jeremiah's son, Benjamin Freeman, is FindaGrave #10842454.
Jeremiah and Elizabeth Marsh were married in Elizabeth, NJ at ST John's Church on 2 Nov. 1768 according to church records.
Jeremiah is mentioned in his father Joseph's will, as are his wife Elizabeth and three of his children. Jeremiah apparently passed away very close to the time that his father died in late 1788.
