About Jesse Filmore Aldridge
Jesse Filmore Aldridge was the son of Frances Julina Aldridge Davis and Ephraim Whitley. This information is based on an 1879 bastardy bond and also in 2 Permanent Voter registration logs where Filmore gives his ancestor to qualify as a permanent voter as Benjamin Lindsey Whitley, father of Ephraim Whitley. Ephraim Whitley (there were two in Stanly County, so be careful not to get them confused) was the son of Benjamin Lindsey Whitley and Margaret "Peggy" Eudy. He married Margaret C. Bowers in addition to having children with Julina. Benjamin Lindsey Whitley was the son of George Whitley (1787 - 1858) and Rebecca Cagle. B. L. Whitley married Peggy Eudy in 1841 and later , Elizabeth Eudy in 1857.
