Jesse Nathaniel Benson

Jesse Nathaniel Benson was born December 20, 1923, in Snowflake, Arizona, to Melvin Jeremiah Benson and Rachel Smith Benson. His mother passed away in 1940 when Jesse was only 17 years old. He was the grandson of Jesse Nathaniel Smith, a cousin of The Prophet, Joseph Smith, Jr., founder of the Mormon Church. He married Estella Dansie, and enlisted in the Marine Corps on July 1, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was discharged November 13, 1945, at Cherry Point, North Carolina.

Jesse passed away in April of 1992, while living in Salt Lake City, Utah.
