About Jessie Cole Shifflett
ELKTON - Jesse C. Shifflett, 78, of Rt. 3, Elkton died Wednesday evening at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shifflett was born in Greene County on Feb. 27, 1888, and was a son of the late Rufus A. and Selena Shifflett. He is survived by his wife, the former Blanche Haney; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Castle of Alexandria, Mrs. Marcie Hayes and Mrs. Lena Reganus, both of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Marie Morris of Staunton, and Mrs. Norine Bailey of Washington, D. C.; three sons, Oliver, Bertram and Willard Shifflett all of Elkton; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Ira Shifflett of Baltimore, Md.; three half sisters, Mrs. Dave Thomas and Miss Edith and Miss Annie Shifflett, all of Orange County; six half brothers, Alfred, George, Richard, Bezill, and Rufus Shifflett all of Orange County, and Garfield Shifflett of Fredericksburg. The funeral will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. from the Elkton EUB Church by the Rev. Don Fridinger. Burial will be in the Elk Run Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of Mr. Shifflett's Sunday School Class. The body is at the Brill Funeral Home, Elkton.
