Joan (59), a widow, was found dead, naked, and reportedly with her throat slit, at her home in Virginia, Free State on 25th February 2014, by her landlord and domestic worker.

Police are questioning a suspect, but spokesperson, Harry Nagel, could at this stage not provide any details about the person that is being questioned. He also said that the post mortem results would reveal as to whether she was raped or not. Nagel added that Joan had an adopted son, but could not confirm whether or not he stayed with her.

Cell phones, bank cards and keys were taken.
