(From/Aus "Kulturanteil": Johann Tobias MEYNHARD (974) aus Pressath (975) traf 1756 als Soldat an Bord des Schiffes "De Vrouwe Rebecca Jacoba" ein. Er diente der HOK vom folgenden Jahr an als Schmied, heiratete 1760, beantragte 1764 seine Unabhängigkeit und wurde Vater von elf Kindern (976).

According to Suid-Afrikaanse Geslagregisters (Vol 5 p777) he arrived in 1756 from Germany as a soldier on the ship "De Vroue Rebecca Jacoba". He worked as a blacksmith in 1757 and become a free burgher in 1764.
