About Johann Gustav Elflein
Gustav Elflein was a German aviation pioneer, graduating from the prestigious military flying academy Bayerische Fliegerschule 1 at Oberschleissheim/Bavaria in 1917 at the very young age of 18 in order to become a military airship pilot .
In later life he was also sergeant in the German army during WWII and a master shoemaker in civilian life.
He lived at Stockgasse 268 in Volkach.
