- Count Johann Nepomuk Buquoy was one of the major philanthropists and education reformers. The focus of his work were the education and care for the poor. He worked with the pastor Kaplitzer Ferdinand Kindermann and could enforce his proposed school system in his dominions. This system was based on assumption that may be facilitated by a good education and eventually eliminate poverty completely.
- Count Johann Nepomuk Buquoy married Theresa, née Countess of pair. According to her, he later named the park Valloncherie he 1756entlang in the river Strobnitz founded in order to "Theresiental". His wife contributed greatly to the construction activities. In the years 1788 to 1797 she was in "their" park to build the St. Wenceslav which she named after her father. Another of her achievements was the construction of the so-called "Blue House". When she was widowed in 1803, she decided to live in this house as their private residence.
