About Johann Heinrich Richter, SV/PROG 6

Source GR further info strenghtening the MOOC JOHANN HEINRICH (p. 336). - Date of second marriage 11.12.1808. Further children by second wife: Hendrik Samuel Theodorus, Johan Christiaan, Johan Hendrik Sebastiaan. R. seems to have left the Comp.'s service temporarily after the expiration of his contract of 1794. In his will of 1799 (Test. O.C. 54: 43) he is called late surgeon of the Company, and some of his accounts for general dealer's goods date from the same year.

R. died 4.7.1813 as “Chirurgyn der Colonie Swellendam”, so he had evidently carried on his medical profession beside his general dealer's business. His surviving children were: Maria Sophia,
Johan George Fredrik, Bernhard, Johanna Catharina Wilhelmina, Johan Andries, Hendrik Samuel Theodorus, Johan Christiaan, Johan Hendrik Sebastiaan.
