Johanna Gage

Born abt 1629 in England. Johanna died in Lynn, Essex, MA aft 1695, she was 66.

"Joanna Knight (b. Eng.) married prob. Salem, bef. 1648, Thomas Gage who, 1655 (Salem Deeds, Lib. 2, folio 52) acknowledged payment and released his mother-in-law Elizabeth Knight and her second husband Allen Breed from legacy of forty shillings left to his wife Joanna (Knight) Gage by her father." (378)

"In June, 1657, he [Alan Breed] was sued for the price of a cow which belonged to Thomas Gage?s wife, Joanna, the daughter of Bread?s wife?s former husband, William Knight."

"The will of Thomas Gage proved Aug. 5, 1695, reads as follows: ?Thomas Gage ss. of Harwich do will to my son Benjamin Gage all my household estate be it in whatsoever and wheresoever it is, only to my wife I do give one shilling and to my son Thomas five shillings and to all my other children to each a shilling; this being my last will this 30 of jUne one thousand six hundred and nine five.?
