Joanna Lyon has a calculated birth year of 1663. [1]
Johanna came to America as a servant of John Mallet. When John's first wife died, John married her. [2]
She could not read or write, she was perhaps was a peasant woman. There is a story told of her, that she was strong enough to carry a wooden plow on her shoulder to Johh, who was on Toilsome Hill, some three or four miles north of their home.[2]

Stratfeld, Conn. d 10 January 1760 Long Hill, Trumull, Connecticut of smallpox; m Mary Booth, daughter of Eben Booth and Mary Clark. [3] John Mallet, Jr. b 16 October 1716 Fairfield, Connecticut, bapt. Stratfeld, Conn.; m Sarah French[3] Joanna Mallet, widow of John, died 16 September 1764 at the age of 101.[1][4]
Joanna is buried in the Old Stratfield Cemetery, Bridgeport, Connecticut.[1]
