About Johanne Sophie Meyer

!Johanne Sophie Meier was the daughter of Johann Ernst Heinrich Meier or Meyer a day farm worker of Lochtum.
Her daughter Johanne Caroline is listed in the Church Records as illigitimate. However, when Johanne Caroline died, her husband listed her father as Frederick Cook (possibly Koch). Johanne Sophie married Johan Heinrich Gottfried Friedrich Schoppe Johanne Sophie in 1854 and he became Johanne Caroline's stepfather. Johanne Sophie married Frederick Schoppe in 1854 and he became Johanne Caroline's stepfather. The three migrated to Australia on the HUMBOLDT which arrived Moreton Bay in November 1870.
Johanne Caroline arrived in Australia under the name of Schoppe and was married under that name,but it is not known whether she was legally adopted by Frederick.
The name is spelt with either an I or a Y, depending on which minister wrote the entry in the chruch records
