  • Northern KZN police on Monday reported two farm killings in the Vryheid district, both of which took place on Friday July 12. The other farmer was Johnny Scheepers.
  • In the same area just a few weeks earlier, a farmer had been ambushed by attackers after he had gotten out of his vehicle to remove a log lying across his farm road. He escaped unscathed.
