His tombstone is in the Pioneer wall at the Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg Ontario
According to the confiscation list John was a shoemaker before the war. He joined the Turloch militia and was absorbed into the KRRNY in August 1777. Turloch was also known as Dorlach which is approximately present day Sharon Springs in New York.
