About Johannes Sverkveson Seve
The source for the following section (translated into English by Stanley Nuland, M.D.) is:
L. Kindem, Vossaboki, Band II, Seve farm, pages 138-144, specifically, pages 139-140.
In 1635, a widow and Johannes were tenants. Since 1636 only Johannes Sverkveson was listed as the tenant until 1675-76 and was there longer, probably. He was a juror several times from 1656-1669, and was in 1662 indicted for gathering nuts in another man’s forest. He was married before 1645 to a Guri. Perhaps she is a previously mentioned widow. Johannes had these 5 children: Sverkve, who moved to Gjerde, Lars, who also lived at Gjerde, Gjertrud, g. m. Olof Homve, Dorthe, g. m. Rasmus Brynjulvson Store Rokne and Guri, who in 1716 lived at Rote. The widow after Johannes Sverkveson was married with Sheriff Mass Seve, but if it was with Guri, whether Johannes had been married two times, and if in any case it was the second wife of Johannes the sheriff was married to, we don’t know. (The above was added by Robert Louis Hovde.)
Lagrettemann var han fleire gonger 1656-1669, og var 1662 stemnd for å ha henta neter i annan manns skog. Han var gift fyre 1645 med Guri.
