About Johannes Nicholas Weagle

Johannes (John) Nicholas was born about 1736 or 1737 or 1740 in Germany. Date of death may have been January 10, 1820

He is found listed as a farmer on the Ship's manifest for the Gale sailing from Germany to Nova Scotia, September 6, 1752 http://www.progenealogists.com/palproject/ns/1752gale.htm

The ship was said to have left Germany with 249 passengers and arrived with 220 persons. 29 persons died on the voyage. The Gale had a long and stormy passage with violent westerly winds. The disembarkment was delayed due in part to illness on the ship. The delay may have also been due to the unfinished housing for the immigrants.

A copy of the 1770 Census as seen on: http://seawhy.com/cen1770v.html Shows Nicholas 'Weagle' married to Anna Marie and with four children. 2 girls ages 5 and 3. As well as 2 boys ages 1 and a married male adult child.

A copy of the 1838 census shows Nicholas, a farmer and family of 6 living in New Dublin Township, New Dublin, Nova Scotia.
