Notes for John Anderson: Mary Anderson to John Anderson 3/3/1733/4 335 acres Hanover Co. for 30 pounds left him in the will of his father Robert Anderson of New Kent Co. 335 acres on the North side of Totopotomeys Creek being one half of land bought of George WIlkinson in 1719 the other half belonging to his brother Charles Anderson.

Land Patents, "Richard Anderson- - adjoining corner and land surveyed for Robert Hubbard and along the York River s.e. and n.e. on Tancks Creek ... Sold to Robert Jones, who sold to Anderson, dtd 1662, 200 acres." Bk B, P. 177.

- 1. Robert Anderson, b. ca 1640 New Kent Co., Va., d. 1712, aged abt 72 years. On Oct. 23, 1690, he took over the 727 acres in New Kent Co. which had been relinquished by his father, Richard Anderson. On the same date, he recd 1200 acres for transporting 24 persons. In 1702 he was listed as vestryman of St. Peter's Parish, New Kent Co., as well as 1686. He m. Cecelia, believed to be dau. of David Massie and his wife, Lucelia Poindexter, according to Historical Southern Families by Boddie, V. XV, P. 202. Issue follows: Richard; David; Matthew; John; Thomas; Nelson; Mary; Cecelia and Robert Jr.
- i. Robert Anderson, Jr. who d. 1716, aged abt 53 years. Quoting from V. Xv, P. 202, Historical Southern Families by Boddie:
- "On Oct. 23, 1690 he took over the 727 acres in New Kent County which had been relinquished by his father." Further, "Robert Anderson, Jr. married Mary Overton ... She was born June 28, 1673, the daughter of William Overton ... who was born in England December 3, 1638 and married Elizabeth Waters on November 24, 1670 (daughter of Samuel and Ann Waters of London). This marriage of William Overton and Elizabeth Waters is proved by the Will of Ann Waters, widow, of the Parish of St. Sepulchre in London dated September 29, 1697 and probated July 1700 by her son, Thomas Waters."
